She had a convoluted tragic back story that I abandoned in ~2019 when I designed Dorothy, while listening to this John Lennon demo at 3 am. Thus, they're made for one another.
They both have some sort of fuckshit (idk what yet) that makes them immune to time Jack Harkness style.Crowfield was raised as a male until she reached age 15, in which her baby farmer had kicked her out due to poor finances. On her own, she was able to live how she liked in the comfort of a home she'd squat in until she got a job as a domestic servant in 1884.
at this point Blaire has adopted the name "Vivian"
Vivian would not realize something was amiss until she travelled back to the town where she was raised with her employer and his family when she was 23. When at the town chapel she saw her baby farmer, but she had looked so different. Blaire realized she wasn't just aging well, she wasn't aging at all.
Thoroughly horrified and paranoid, Vivian began setting aside money and eventually, in 1892, she moved eastward to Chicago with another family to work as their servant. However, it only took a few months for this family to kick her out, after their daughter saw Vivian changing and thus, her secret was out.following this Blaire was only able to get a job in a brothel, as she had no documentation and was legally nonexistent.
in 1893, during the Worlds expo, a German physician attended the brothel Vivian was working at and was hired for him. However, upon seeing her intersex condition he declined to sleep with her, paid her in full, and eventually sent for her in 1894 upon his return to Germany. She continued working as a domestic servant for him, and in return she was housed, fed, clothed, and eventually underwent an orchiectomy in 1924.The physician knew of Vivian's time-immune situation, was confused by it, and tried time and time again to run tests on her, to her vehement refusal.
By the time Vivian had met Dorothy, her relationship with the doctor had begun to deteriorate due to his prodding.Although not growing up in squalor nor having to work thanks to the money her mother had saved, Dorothy and her father were always militant with saving. A notable episode is from when Dorothy was 14 and bought her first soda: upon seeing her with the treat her father kicked her out for 2 weeks until their neighbor, who had been friends with Dorothy's mother, chewed him out for doing so. Dorothy affectionately called this neighbor Tantchen Ursula.
Her father was just barely eligible for conscription at age 44 but was called into action anyway during ww1. Her step mother was apathetic to her older children, and thus, Dorothy was tasked with taking care of them.It was at this point that Dorothy had recieved a visit from her aunt Elizabeth from England. Seeing as this was her only connection to her mother, Dorothy had begun a letter correspondence with her that would last for three decades.
In early 1919, Dorothy had recieved a pamphlet about the November Revolution (which had given German women the right to vote) and sought out one of the authors, as his name preceeded him. Dorothy met the physician and inquired about female homosexuality and it's place in nature. It was at his clinic that Dorothy met Vivian.
At age 31 Dorothy realized her body wasn't aging the same as her fathers had been at the same age, she worried internally but she took advantage of her vitality while she couldBoth helping themselves to spirits, Dorothy opened up about her lack of aging, trying (and miserably failing) to flirt. Vivian was thoroughly sloshed, and focusing on keeping her nausea at bay, had blurted out that she was actually older than the physician they had in common. At this, Dorothy thought she was drunk and babbling. It wasn't brought up again until Dorothy was in her 40's and Blaire was in her 60's.
